At The Waterman Fish Bar, we’re all about fresh, sustainable seafood, and honoring the hardworking watermen who make it all possible. We opened our doors in 2018 with a simple mission: bring the best seafood to Charlotte in a neighborhood while supporting the folks who bring it to us.

We’ve got a lot of respect for the men and women who brave the elements to harvest the seafood we love, and we’re committed to sourcing American-only catch. That means every bite at The Waterman is fresh and sustainable, and supports local and regional fisheries. We want to contribute to the health of our oceans—and do right by the people who work it.

Our menu is full of coastal favorites, from oysters and shrimp po’ boys to lobster rolls and clam chowder. We’re all about making seafood accessible, casual, and downright delicious. We want every meal to feel like a mini getaway to the coast.

But it’s not just about the food—we’ve got a cocktail program that perfectly complements the vibe. We offer a selection of refreshing beers, crisp wines, and vibrant cocktails (aka Boat Drinks) that bring a touch of the tropics to your table.
